Is 3/8 carat diamond engagement ring to small?
I'm ready to purpose to my girlfriend and I believe I found the ring that is right. I'm just unsure if the carat size is to small or if its okay. The ring is quite traditional, Tiffany setting, single round diamond, white gold band.
My girlfriend is quite simple and doesn't fancy extravagant jewelry and barely wears it. But I don't know I really like this ring and I think she would to but perhaps its my male ego coming through or something when i think about the size of the diamond.
Any assistance or advice would be great.
Any girl worth your time, and it sounds like this girl is, and any girl who wants to spend her life with you, as it sounds like you're hoping she does, will not care if you put a 50 cent bubblegum machine ring on her finger, as long as it came from you. That said, 3/8 of a carat is almost half a carat and is not a small ring, and YOU like it, and you've chosen it for her.
Besides, women who aren't all about "glamor" (and most are not) won't want a big gawky ring anyway...this ring sounds like the perfect size to me. She will love it...have confidence and be proud to place it on her finger.
