Is this a good bday idea for my bf?
I want to get my boyfriend for his bday cuff links. Not just any cuff links but specific ones that have some signifigance in his life. 1) I found a really nice pair and they have a space on them where I want to engrave his initials on it too, I think it would look really good. 2) a pair with the british flag because he's english & 3) a pair that are shaped like playing/poker cards i.e. the hearts, diamonds etc. I also want to get this pair cause he loves to play poker and is quite good at it. Soooo is this a good idea? Iv got something serious and special and something fun too. Is that 1 to many cuff links? any other ideas?

well i wud suggest that u should present him only 1 pair of cuff links because it will be special to him. Gifting too many variety of the same thing always makes its charm loose because its not the gifts that matter, but its the feeling behind that one special gift which a person associates with the memory of that gift.
It should be something that makes him think of you, not some baseball team or a poker game or his country.
give him something that symbolises love, friendship, togetherness, peace or warmth , something that makes him fondly remember the times that u both have spent together.
see, being a guy i wud never wear something that is indicative of the fact that i am into poker or i am addictive to gambling or something. we all love something but we do not want the world to recognize us by that particular thing when we wear it. its a bit embarassing sometimes.
So the crux is that give him cuff links with something related to love embedded on it rather than flags or poker.
